Glossary

301 and 302 (Redirects)

301 is a permanent redirect that preserves SEO value, while 302 is temporary and used for campaigns.

SEOteknikwebbutveckling

A 301 redirect is a permanent redirection of a page address. It's used when restructuring websites to preserve SEO value when a page gets a new URL, so old links don't lead to 404 pages.

301 vs 302

A 302 redirect is temporary and signals to search engines that the original page is still active. Unlike 301, SEO value is not permanently transferred. 302s are often used for temporary campaigns or A/B tests.
